Happy 4th Birthday Daddy Pino!

I missed my blog and telling stories. It is neglected because my grannies are so busy: one is working with her personal blog and the other is working in odesk. But no matter what, I’m still going to share what happened on March 9, a very special day for my dad.

My dad Pino turned four years old. Way ahead the event my grannies were talking about what to prepare while I’m just listening and waiting if the plan will materialize because I like experiencing the result than making plans.

“Happy birthday to me! But where’s the FOOD.”

Everyone was in a good mood early in the morning. They greeted and sing for my dad and urged us to do the same. After my human family had lunched, they were busy cooking, walking back and forth, and  cleaning—I just presumed that what they are doing have something to do with the celebration—and most importantly the food.

I'm Now a Lady!

I’m still an Aspin. What the title means is, after nine months and ten days, I am now “in hit.” At first I left little drops of blood on the floor; these evidences lead to the discovery of my granny—the baby is now a lady. And it’s not good news!

By now, the “alert mode” in the house is activated. At all costs, my human owners wouldn’t let any male pooch comes near me because there’s a strictly-imposed rule in our house after Buchie and I were born: no more puppies! They wouldn’t leave me alone outside; my great grandparents (my owners’ parents) are their helping to guard the “blossoming lady!”

They are grateful for one thing though, Buchie, my sister, is not yet in hit, so all eyes are on me. What if all treats are for me? How I wish from the bottom of my coat!

True Value Hardware, Another Dog Supply Depot

A few weeks ago, my sister and I had a trip in True Value, a hardware store, at Trinoma Mall. We didn’t go there for any home-improvement project. I read on the net that like Ace Hardware, True Value is somewhat a pet store for having an array of selections of dog, cat, fish, and bird supplies which are affordable and imported.

If you’re looking for its location in Trinoma Mall, you can ask the concierge. The easiest way to find it is when you’re in the center of the activity ground where events are held; look for Red Ribbon. Beside it is a path leading to more shops, one of which is True Value located at the left side.
The hardware store isn’t that huge compare to Ace Hardware found in SM Annex, North Edsa but on the contrary the former has lower price for dog supplies (I don’t know about the rest because I only looked at the prices of canine items.) My sister bought only important things.

Sleepover!

aspin sleeping with pet owners
Enjoying my stay as a roommate.

My favorite activity—sleeping! But before having sweet dreams, I had few photos taken by my earthling grannies as a remembrance for my first sleepover in their room.

It’s nice lying on the wooden floor, old yet shiny and warm for my sensitive coat. I wonder what floor wax do they use and how often they have to scrub it? What matter is, I for a single day became their newly-bathe roommate. (What if I take a bath every day, will I be allowed for a woody sleep over?)

Water every day! I'll stick to occasional slumber party. Anyway, I don't want to be disturbed by my human owner typing and surfing in wee hours. Enough sleep is important for the proper development of my body.

Good night!

A New Breed of Lion in the City

small shaggy dog
King of the jungle!

He is too small and appears gentle than a lion. It’s just Teddy. I, myself, was surprised and laughed when I’m organizing the shots. How amazing that a change of angle in taking pictures renders an effect—a miniature lion, in this case.

I felt like singing “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” and “Hakuna Matata.” Fortunately, he still barks like “arf, arf” and not “growls” like a lion in the savanna.

Pino the “Underdog”

What a cutie!
Jonas (our deceased dog) gave birth almost four years ago to her second litter composed of four puppies, two females and two males. My mom gave us permission to keep a male puppy. Several weeks after I saw one who was growing beautifully: hes’s huggable, adorable, almost like a teddy bear everyone loves. I named him Teddy—yet a relative who lives next door adopted him.

With four puppies to choose from my sister picked a black puppy that she perceived to become furry later on. She has high hope while I have doubt. I thought the puppy is not the ideal one to adopt, an underdog I must say. Frustrated with her decision, I teased her about choosing a rodent and even encourage her to pick a less-looking-rodent puppy even if it’s a female.

But no matter what unpleasant remark or mocking the little one gets—she was determined to keep him at all costs. The lucky fellow found a friend, a saver, through my sister.

New Year With a Bang(s)

New Year, New look. Because Pino’s sight is a bit  blocked by his long hair that he occasionally bumps into things, so her mom (my sister) grabbed his tool and gave him a haircut.

Time to say goodbye to long hair!
